Robyn and I grew up together riding horses back in South Africa. We both kept our horses at Newmarket Stables and would spend many an afternoon there with all the other kids who rode. As soon as Robin proposed I got the call and the request to shoot their Super DIY Wedding that is to be held on their parents farm in Surrey next August. This family are very close to my heart and I spent two months living at the farm one chilly December and January a good few years back now. I cannot wait to see how the barn is going to be transformed for the wedding reception. The whole family are mucking in and helping out to do things like grow their own flowers for the wedding day.
I wanted to have a very natural, organic feel to the couple’s engagement shoot and really show off the Autumnal feel of the time of year. The shoot took place in a forest not too far from where I live in Dorking, Surrey and there was an abundance of golden yellow leaves carpeting the forest floor. Robyn’s mustard coloured jacket is pretty much an exact match to the leaves, nice styling!
