Personal shoots are highly important for us photographers to do. It fires up the creative juices and pushes us out of our comfort zone. This was a million miles out of my zone! The location, the styling and the use of off camera flash. I have a new set of Bowens pulsar radio triggers that I wanted to test out. This allows you to use your flash off camera and unlike the infrared triggers your flash does not have to be in the line of sight.
Flash, if used correctly, can have a great effect. It really adds that extra pop and contrast for a fashion editorial look. I have had to do very minimal Photoshop work to these images as the colour was so lovely straight out of camera. I have added a small about of vignetting and a touch of contrast and saturation to the images. That is it.
I worked really hard and challenged myself to come up with very naturally directed posing for the models but with a fashion feel. I hope it shows. I love images that have a bit of movement in them and are not too static. I always get excited when a gust of wind enters my shot!
A huge thank-you to ANDREW DOBELL who put this shooting day together.

This shot inspired by Herb Ritts….
