Life in Provo
We have been living in Provo (short for Providenciales) for a month already. I can’t believe it! We feel so lucky. It has been a bit of a whirlwind for us as we went from the busy UK wedding season, May to September, straight into busy season here on the island! We spent two weeks packing up our lives whilst editing albums and sorting things out for our weddings. We shot a wedding the day before we left (cray cray!) and arrived here only to begin work one day later. We really have got into the swing of things by working right away though.
Craig shot is first solo wedding along with another shooter who assisted him from the studio here. It is really exciting for us to now both be shooting our own weddings!
We have also been working on an ongoing commission for the THE TURKS AND CAICOS TOURIST BOARD BLOG and you can visit their site to see all the local happenings, food, culture and so on that we as a studio have been covering. Craig photographed the Wind Vibes competition on Long Bay Beach and I have been photographing local food as well as the arts & crafts festival with more to follow soon.
Here are some photos I took with our small point n shoot Panasonic Lumix. I take it everywhere with me now as this island is just so breathtaking that I cannot help but want to shoot, shoot, shoot! I have only shot one roll of film so far on my beloved Contax 645 but I plan to change that and try to shoot one roll per week. This is what Jonathan Canlas recommended to us during the Film Is Not Dead course in Ibiza that we did back in September – so I really shoot stick to that plan!
This is only a 7 min walk from our house and is called Leeward Beach.
